Non-Touristy Mekong Delta Tour – Cruising on boat & biking around the villages

Start your day with 8 AM pickup from your centrally-located hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and head to the Long An Province in the Mekong Delta Region. After a 1.5-hour car ride arrive at the first stop of the day, a local family’s orchid farm. At the farm, admire hundreds of types of orchids from various countries and learn how the plants grow to adapt to the environment they are in.

After visiting the orchid farm, climb aboard a rowing boat to paddle along the small canals and see locals going about their daily lives then cruising along the Mekong River on a motorboat, enjoy fresh coconut water on boat. Next, start the highlight of your trip: a bike ride along the countryside road lined with aceca palm trees, dragon fruit farms and endless rice fields. You may see children cycling to school and farmers harvesting rice and okra.

Cycle for about an hour before arriving at a local market, where your guide will help you buy fruit from the street vendors if you wish.

Then, visit Cao Dai Temple – an unmissable experience during the prayer session. Then, bike to a local restaurant for lunch, where you’ll enjoy a set menu of Vietnamese cuisine (vegan food is available).

After lunch, depending on time, head off to a local mattress workshop to see mattresses being made of reeds. The tour will arrive back in Ho Chi Minh at around 4.30 PM. Please note the itinerary may be flexible.
